Strategy Session 8: Coach Profile Settings

What's happening family ?

Were back with another installment of our defensive series. Today I want to go over some of the coach profile and individual defensive settings. I am hearing a lot about cpu defenders leaving their assignments. While I am certain some of these are bugs that need to be corrected. Especially in modes like my player where you may not be able to make the necessary adjustments.

There may also be a small bit of user error involved. One of the great things about 2K sports games are their complexity. Conversely, one of the worst things about 2K sports games are their complexity.

With so many settings variables and so many places to adjust them it can make having an intelligent conversation about what is wrong very frustrating. A small change in one place or another and the basis for the comparison can change in an instant.

Hopefully this show can help clear the air on how you can assist the cpu defenders in implementing your defensive game-plan.

Enjoy !

  8. @ cashbaby thanks for visiting. The amount of shows I get in depend on the content. Those defense shows took a lot of time and research so naturally there won't be a lot of other content while working on big subjects like those. Other times shows happen much faster and will be up sooner. So it will vary depending on my schedule in real life and the content.

the passing game is somewhat flawed based on how the cpu defenders react to your pass. or i should say react automatically at times to your press of the button before the pass even comes out. they are already stealing it. lol. to stop this from happening as much. you have to do one of three things. 1. pump fake, the pass it. 2.pass fake, then pass it. or 3. jump pass it.

for example. you walk close to another offensive player. you're crowding the space. to force him to cut to the basket. he cuts. you hit the pass button. its usually and auto steal in 2k12. but with the above tools. you can avoid the auto steal more times then not. now granted these things above will slow you down a tad bit. but its better then a turnover.

  11. Oh yeah.....do you know the how to use the wedge setting to your benefit. Its right after the pick and pick and roll defensive setting. I dont know what they mean by hard or soft wedge.

  12. Hey man...nice videos!! Great tips...I was just wondering about the "bench depth" slider! My subs are set to rotation...what's the best value to make my bench go in-court more often? ty keep up the good work!!

  13. @CalcanharDeViena Thanks for stopping by family !! You move that slider to the right to have your bench play more minutes and to the left to have them play fewer.

  14. @Unknown the hedge setting's don't work as they should. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. It easier to see and understand than type so I will throw a video up on it for you soon. But a soft hedge stops penetration and A hard hedge keep the ball handler from using the screen to gain an advantage. Forces him to go away from the basket.
